The Current: Concerns of 2022

Since July 2020, Horizon Media’s WHY group has been keeping a monthly pulse on how people are feeling and engaging amid economic and political turmoil, COVID-19, social injustice, and beyond. Previously called the New Normal News, this report marks the start of a new way of reporting our data under the title: The Current.

The Current: Concerns of 2022 report is centered around the question, what global issues do people care about as they enter 2023, and what has dropped off people’s radars?

Each month we check in with nearly 1,000 people 18+ nationwide via the Finger on the Pulse panel to understand their mindsets, attitudes, and behaviors. This report will focus on:

  • What issues did people care about at the end of 2022?
  • How has that changed over time?
  • How are people talking about these issues?
  • Who cares about them the most at the end of 2022?
